Early morning crash during Chardham Yatra sparks safety concerns in skies over Uttarakhand There was a serious accident early Sunday morning during the Chardham Yatra when a helicopter with seven individuals on board met with an accident close to Gaurikund in Uttarakhand. All seven individuals on board, one of them a child, lost their lives in the tragic incident. The accident occurred at about 5:30 am while on a routine flight to Kedarnath. Immediate action was taken the moment word reached the authorities, with rescue forces racing to the location.
Horror in the Hills in the Morning: What Occurred in Gaurikund
The helicopter, which belonged to Aryan Aviation, was ferrying pilgrims on a journey as part of the annual Kedarnath-bound Chardham Yatra. The helicopter crashed in the Gaurikund area of Rudraprayag, which is a high-density, sensitive zone during the yatra period. The suspected reason is difficult weather conditions, which are also said to be unpredictable in the hilly terrain.
Authorities have stated that the chopper lost control during the adverse weather, killing everyone on board. There was a child among the victims, which made the tragedy more heightened. No official details of the passengers have been revealed yet.
Rescue Operations Underway: SDRF and NDRF Present
After the crash, State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams were promptly deployed at the accident site. The main task was to conduct debris removal and search operations.
The rescue operations were underway since early morning itself, and local administration was also present to take care of the situation. Helicopter Nodal Officer Rahul Choubey and District Disaster Management Officer Nandan Singh Rajwar confirmed the news and stated that all official measures are being adopted to deal with the aftermath in an efficient manner.
